Sonic Drilling

Traut Companies’ sonic drilling service delivers fast, precise, and environmentally responsible data collection for complex site investigations. Using high-frequency vibration to advance the drill string, sonic drilling produces exceptionally clean, continuous samples with minimal disturbance—helping environmental professionals obtain the reliable subsurface information their projects demand.

Our sonic rigs are designed to solve common environmental drilling challenges:

  • Obtain high-integrity samples with minimal disruption for accurate contaminant delineation
  • Reduce cross-contamination risks through cleaner boreholes and controlled sampling
  • Drill efficiently through mixed or hard formations where traditional methods struggle
  • Access difficult sites with versatile rig setups capable of tight, urban, or remote locations
  • Install high-quality monitoring wells with reduced borehole collapse and better annular seals
  • Minimize environmental impact by lowering waste generation and disturbance to sensitive areas

Whether you’re characterizing complex geology, supporting remediation, or collecting high-quality core, Traut’s sonic drilling team provides precise results, dependable performance, and field-tested expertise to keep environmental projects on track.
